...And you will name him

...And you will name him Jesus. He will be great, and people will call him the Son of the Most High. The Lord God, will give him the throne of King David, his ancestor. He will rule over the people of Jacob forever. His kingdom will never end."
Luke 1
We wish for you everything your heart needs to have peace, adoration and happiness this Christmas. And whether your holidays are handmade or storebought or the same as last year and the year before, the blessings of the Nativity are unchanging!
Merry Christmas to all from our family!

an early present...

harold and i will be married 5 years as of tomorrow. this is always a special time of year but this year seemed extra sweet having Georgia to help us celebrate. i wanted to do something really great for him this year. he so deserves it. he is great beyond words. inside and out. great in ways that still overwhelm me. in ways that still capture my heart by surprise. i tell georgia everyday that we are two very lucky girls to have such a man rule our hearts and home. so as i thought about what would mean the most to him i realized that she and i mean the most to him. ask him and he'd tell you the same. his two girls. he means that and i know it. so georgia and i spend the afternoon talking and laughing about the man we love most. and it just so happens that is was caught on film ;)
those are just a few. he has the whole disk to himself with the others and loves it as much as i imagined. i hope georgia finds a man that will love her like her daddy loves me one day. i pray for that continually. what a gift from God marriage is.

happy anniversary baby. i sure do love you.

6 Month Update

We had Georgia's 6 month appointment today and we have ourselves one healthy baby. Praise the Lord. We talked to the doctor about the incident this weekend and asked lots of questions and he assured us that she is just fine. That is an answer to prayer. Again I say, Praise You. So here's some updates bout g. marie...

*She's 17.6 lbs (70th percentile) and 27.25 inches (95 th percentile)
*She is sitting up, holding her own bottle and can roll both ways
*She is quite the talker. Only at home though. She's quite the kid at home but quite reserved in public. (um, harold jr)
*Her eyes are hazel-ish and her hair is light & curly-ish
*She is sleeping without a swaddle or sleep sack and loves the freedom
*And lastly, she is out of Swaddlers diapers. 9 out of 10 of you won't care, but I myself still can't believe my baby is in Cruisers. Hmph.

I think she is in the process of teething because her drool is massive, her biting is constant and I caught her rubbing her gums the other day. But no teeth yet. So here's a cute shot of those baby gums...
Her motor skills are improving rapidly as well. It's amazing how quickly they learn. Her new thing is the stack of rings and she's finally figured out what it's all about...

Big girl, eh? I agree. Still can't believe she's 6 months old. Gosh. So we are having fun and enjoying the mess out of her. And sometimes when I hug her, I want to squeeze so hard that we become one again. Of course, I DON'T, but I want to. In that good kinda way.
And lastly...do yourself a favor and look closely at this picture.
This is what Georgia looked like when I walked in the house this afternoon. Harold was home with her all afternoon because I had some work to do at the office. There are so many things wrong with this but if you'll notice, the one thing that is right is her smile. And that makes everything else okay.
Have a good week. Love from Bham...

Saturday morning when i went

Saturday morning when i went to get Georgia out of bed her left eye (and a little of her mouth) was drooping considerably. I fed her and called the nurse. She paged the doctor who told us to take her straight to Children's Hospital. We spent the morning there and after two doctors and lots of consultation on their part, we still don't know what happened. They were concerned it was something called Bell's Palsy, but she improved as the day went on which ruled that out. So we are keeping an eye on her and prayerful that nothing is/was wrong. Here's a picture of her from last night. You can see her left eye still isn't opened all the way, but it is a big improvement from yesterday morning...
Nevertheless, she is her ole' happy self which gives us great comfort. There are no words to describe the feelings I had yesterday so I won't even try. But God is faithful to comfort.
Actually the ONLY comfort at times like those. I bought her some blocks the other day and she has no use for them. The bag they came in on the other hand has provided much entertainment.
And much distress...

All I did was take it for a second to try and get a picture. Gracious. She used to forget about things when they weren't in her view. Uh, not anymore. We gotta work on that baby's heart condition.

Hope ya'll have a good week. Pray for us. God hears them and they matter!

Happy Days

This weekend, Georgia experienced her very first birthday party. Her sweet friend, Maggie Rose, turned a year old on Saturday. Her mom, Heather and I are good friends so of course Maggie and Georgia are good friends too ya know. Here is the birthday girl...

Poor thing wasn't too excited about 30 something grown ups standing over her screaming 'Happy Birthday'. I can't say I blame her. The butter cream icing seemed to help for a bit though. Georgia would have had her first taste but nap time came before the cake was cut. Shucks. Next time you'll get some p pie.

And the other part of the trio was there too, Sarah Avery (dede's little girl). Georgia could not keep her hands off her.
She was grabbing face and neck and anything else. I gotta teach that girl some tact. She has zero!
And this weekend we prepared to go cut down our Christmas tree, but plans were changed (see below) and we just hung around in our Christmas jammies all day. Well Georgia did...Fat chance getting Harold in candy cane striped jammies ;)
And speaking of trees...looks like this is all we're getting this year.
When we pulled out some of the garland & wreaths that we had that were green and tree-like, Georgia freaked out. She would not touch it and if she got near it, she started grabbing on to me and crying. She was honestly scared to death of anything tree-like. I tried several times, thinking that she was just tired or hungry or whatever and got the same response each time. So no tree for us this year. Which is totally fine with us. At least she's okay with the nativity scene. We'd have some serious issues if that freaked her out!!!!!!!!
Enjoy the week. Love from Bham...

Fun Friday...

One of my friends had a cookie swap and lunch this afternoon and so Georgia got to see one of her most favorite people, ms. dede. I am staying at home with Georgia full time now and working from home some, and it was obvious today that she misses ms. dede as much as ms. dede misses having her. i cannot begin to tell you what a blessing that woman has been to our family. we love you tons ms. dede!!!!!!!!And what a rare occasion...a picture with mommy. I am usually behind the camera. So here's proof, I'm alive and well ;)
Have a good weekend. Love from Bham...

It's beginning...

to look a lot like Christmas. Boxes are down from the attic. Silent Night is playing. Lights are being hung. A mistletoe is hanging in the doorway and the first of the decorations, the nativity scene, is out for admiration. Our home and our hearts are preparing for the celebration of the first coming of our Savior. What a glorious time of year!

4 days, 3 states and 1 special holiday...

What a wonderful week it's been. We got to visit with both sets of family. From Alabama, through Georgia and on to South Carolina, we were a traveling bunch. 12 hours in the car in 4 days. phew. But lots of good times and even more memories. So in no particular order, here's a glipse of the last days...

Georgia has become quite the kisser lately. And what I love is that she pulls you in as tight as she can, opens wide and lays it on you in sheer delight. Here's the proof, 3 times over...

Good stuff, huh. Grandma thinks so too.

And she is sitting up like a pro now. She runs into some balance problems when she gets excited and starts reaching for things, but that's what protective cousins are for :)

And drool seems to be a wardrobe staple these days.

Georgia got to meet my aunt Dot (or 'Honey' as she is called) over the break. She has always been so sweet to me and loved me in a special way so I couldn't wait for her to meet my little girl. Cancer may take her life, but it won't take her legacy.

Hope all of you had a Happy Thanksgiving. We are in full decoration mode this week for Christmas. Lots of fun stuff to come...

And lastly...Georgia watched with us in disbelief as the Tigers went scoreless against the Tide.

Well, War Eagle anyway. It's STILL great to be an Auburn Tiger!!!

Best to all this holiday...We're

Best to all this holiday...We're thankful for each one of you!

finally...

georgia is starting to feel better. she's had a cold for 10 days now and i think she is finally starting to shake it off. we've been at home all week together and i have really enjoyed the extra time we've gotten to spend together. cold and all.

And last night was a big night. She moved to the 'infant' side of her bathtub. One side says 'newborn' and kinda reclines a bit, but the 'infant' side sits up, you see. Which my little girl is fully capable of handling. So here's to a whole new bath experience for my chica.

And today, well, another big day. We set out for Georgia's first look at Santa (and hopefully a photo) so we dressed and headed out when I realized that my baby would need some shoes on. I prefer her to be barefoot-ed (i know that's not good english, harold) but it was much to cold for bare feet today, so what better with a smocked bishop than aqua ugg boots.
And to our dismay, the line for Santa was much too long so we'll try another day. She sure did enjoy all the decorations though. As did we. What a special time of year. It's cold outside sure nuff, but mighty warm inside our four walls.

Have a good weekend. Love from Bham...

"Wonderful, Glorious, Holy and RighteousVictorious,

"Wonderful, Glorious, Holy and Righteous
Victorious, Conqueror, Triumphant and Mighty
Healer, Deliver, Shield and Defense
Strong Tower and My Best Friend
Omnipotent, Omnipresent, Soon Coming King
Alpha, Omega, Lord of Everything

Holy, Holy, Holy is Your Name....."

when i listened to this song this morning the tears came down and my hands went up. he is worthy of our praise. our voice. our worship. our children. our marriage. our life. they are his praise. his voice. his worship. his children. his life. and even though the rain is falling and clouds over the sky, because of his love, i can see the Son. and boy is it bright.

Weekend Pics

this is my new favorite picture. look closely and you'll see that one curl sitting atop that pretty head. and somebody is starting to sit up...she can do it propped up for a while and a few seconds on her own.
oh and she also has discovered her feet (which she has become obsessed with)
and if i may brag a bit...i made this dress for her this weekend. it took a white tshirt, a 1/4 yard of fabric and some ric-rac. i paid 3.50 for the tshirt at walmart and even less for the fabric! anyway, i cut the tshirt in half...put a loose stitch in the fabric to ruffle the top, then matched them up inside out and sewed them together. the whole thing took less than an hour. i'm going to monogram or applique something on the tshirt part to complete it and then start on another one. well actually, i need to address the massive pile of laundry you see here on the bed behind her and then i'll start another one;)

ya'll have a good week. love from bham.

i am so glad the

i am so glad the camera was handy this afternoon for snack time...
first she has some diluted juice. dr's orders to keep her 'regular'. she has issues in that department poor thing ;) i obviously wasn't going fast enough so she took it upon herself to grab the bottle and do it without my help. anyway...after her bottle we moved on to some carrots...
which she loves!!! i could not get them in her mouth quick enough either and as soon as she would slurp them down, this was the response i got...SO...
i just handed her the spoon and let her have at it. to my surprise she knew exactly what to do. nevermind that it made a COMPLETE mess. she had fun and i enjoyed watching her gain a little independence. thank goodness for wood floors!!!

Super Tuesday...

Hello, Hello...Been M.I.A. lately. Sorry about that. Hope all is well. Lots going on in the Goss household. First of all, GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!! All three of us went to vote today. Georgia has another 17.5 years to use her political voice, but you have to start them early right? What a privilege we have in this country to vote for our leaders. AND more importantly what a responsibility we have as believers to support, respect and pray for them. No matter which side of the aisle they come from.
Last weekend we bought her an exersaucer (sp?) and she loves it! Her little feet barely reach the bottom and we have to stuff something behind her to stabilize her, but it provides much entertainment for the little one.
And we have reached the stage where EVERYTHING goes into her mouth. Her hands, my hands, toys, you name it...I was concerned about germs at first and then decided that it is pointless...Oh well. She'll be alright.
Her palate seems to prefer the sweeter things in life. Shocking ;) She's now had green peas (hated), squash (not her favorite), sweet potatoes (okay) and all the fruits...apples, pears, bananas, prunes, peaches. She loves them all. Good eater I tell ya. Well...good at eating the sweet stuff. Gotta work on that.
On a completely other note...you'll never guess my luck. I don't win stuff usually. I have never been the '10th caller'. But a few weeks ago I voted for the product below to win on Ideablob.com and the company emailed me today to say that they had a random drawing for the 'Memory Quilt' and I won it! They are even going to sew it for me! This quilt is such a special way to use some of the clothes Georgia has worn as a newborn. Basically you just use the template provided to cut squares of fabric from the items you'd like to use...then alternate them with a solid fabric they provide and sew it together to make a quilt as shown with all your babies clothes (or whatever you choose). The kits comes with all the safety pins, backing & directions OR an addressed envelope to send all the pieces to them for completion. I can't wait to get the kit and send all the pieces for our quilt. I'll post pics as soon as it's done.
All you new moms & moms to be, this is such a perfect way to keep those sweet newborn memories somewhere besides a tupperware container in the attic! Here's the website if you're interested:

I hope I never forget

I hope I never forget my sweet baby at this age. Every day she is more and more beautiful to me. Truly, I didn't know that my heart was capable of this much love. But God did. And now she is mine.

Hump Day Pics

Happy Hump Day...Hope everyone is having a good week. All is good here. Sweet Potatoes were on the menu tonight. She loved them. That isn't obvious is it ;)
Her winter coat. She was cracking me up wearing this big ole' coat. She is so soft and snuggly in AND she completely disregards the hood which i love putting on her.
And bath time. She is the most beautfitul to me after her bath. Guess there is something about being 'washed clean' that makes my soul happy.
