just taking a little break to spend more time away from 'here'. i am using this season of lent to spend the extra time i have doing more reading rather than blog crusing. so all of you whose blogs i frequent, please forgive me if i miss a major update. i'll catch it after easter. and while i miss catching up on the lives of my friends {virtual & literal} i have been refreshed by spending extra time examining the life of Jesus.

so just telling ya...i'm still here. and so are the afro puffs.

sorry. i just had to. i could hardly wait to get home from our play date to post. i sung that little tune every time i reached to pull her pants up. just because we don't have t.v. doesn't mean we aren't in 'tha know'. one of my friends sent me the youtube link after that guys audition because she knew i'd be all over it. guess i need to shrink those pants of jojo's lest she be the target of some american idol ridicule. and if for some reason you have no idea what i'm talking about, don't feel bad....here's the link:

unless you live under a rock, i imagine you are in the mood for v-day as well. not that you have to have a special valentine or a special pint sized valentine or even like valentines candy, but surely you can appreciate the flood of pink and red around us. i in fact love it and this week georgia and i have checked off our v-day list one by one. there's a little something for everyone. you included so stay with me here...

our valentines cards and signed, sealed and on their way to being delivered. my pint sized valentine was NOT in the mood for pictures so the golden afro/in-my-jammies/with-breakfast-on-my-face-picture was as good as it was going to get. which still is pretty good i must say.

her vday shirt is finished and ready for school tomorrow. i used this new iron-on fusible backing that promises to stick after washing but i'm not holding my breath. i got the t-shirt from target for 1.50 so if it doesn't i won't be devastated.

treats for her school friends are ready to go and have been put far away from you-know-who's sight. she will NOT be getting a chocolate covered rice krispie treat this year. and as i type this i am kinda feeling bad about handing these out after the night we had last week. maybe i should put a warning label on them like they do on medicine bottles.

:may cause dizziness. alertness. silliness. and all other kind of 'ness' EXCEPT for tiredness :

i even gathered all the pink and red markers/crayons in our house and gave her a fresh stack of paper so she'd be able to create all the love notes her heart desires.

not very wordy today. just thankful that my sweet baby girl doesn't have to worry about job losses, recessions or politics. i am perfectly content with her being able to play make believe inside her toy box for the next 30 years.

in fact i might just join her next time she asks.

*yawn*

georiga is old enough to open our kitchen drawers and reach her little hand in there to pull out whatever she finds. she can't see in there so it is kinda like a blind treasure hunt. i've tried to move all the questionable objects out of reach and obviously i made a big mistake by not thinking a little snack pack of m&m's were a 'questionable object'.

she found them last night while i was in the middle of dinner and wasn't going to take no for an answer. i figured one or two wouldn't hurt so i told her to take them to her daddy and he'd give them to her. then i told him to give her one or two. after i realized she was still eating them 5 minutes later i asked him how many he gave her. he said the pack was almost done. then he said you told me to give her one or two at a time.

um. no. i said one OR two.

she ran back and forth in her crib last night for 3 hours {not crying...playing} until finally at 10:50 p.m. last night i went in to get her and decided she needed a bread product to try and 'soak' up the sugar/caffeine. so we were eating a waffle and watching wiggles at 11 p.m. there will be no more chocolate in our house for little hands to find and sweet daddies to hand out.

*yawn*

and speaking of drawers...this was before she found the chocolate.

calling in backup

the last few days have been. um. interesting.

bought a huge pack of pork chops and forgot they were in the fridge. ugh.
my most favorite candle got broken. like most favorite ever.
had baby girl sleeping on my chest at night 'cuz she's so congested
my car is making a weird noise when in reverse
oh and i lost my job last week

so i called in wonder woman for backup. surely her and her ziplock of q-tips are equipped to make it better right? i thought so too.

seriously, he gives and takes away. i'm okay with that. one door closes, another opens. this i know. at least georgia and i will get a little more time together each week and that is always a blessing. always.

even more seriously, i'm kinda hoping that part of the giving involves another rosemary candle one day.
