a concert and an after party

this weekend we headed to auburn for georgia's very first concert. one of our favorite kids bands, go fish, was there for the will graham conference. my brother's family was there and some of our good friends came down for the day too...

here's matt, sarah avery, dede, georgia, barry, heather, maggie, harold & me. good friends i tell ya. good friends.

unfortunately the go fish guys were sitting at a table in front of the window so this is as good as it gets for the celebrity pics :)

it was good times. and the girls did great with the loud music. i'm not sure who enjoyed it more actually. us or the kids....

afterwards we headed back to my parents for the after party...

here's g diddy and walker winding down the night. i can't think of anything better than some good music and dinner with friends and family. did i already say good times. okay good.

and if you've never heard of go fish you are seriously missing out. it's the only cd that harold and i can listen to for an extended period of time. here's a link to their site where you can hear clips of their music:

georgia's room : updated

i know i know. two full weeks without an update. phew. i miss you guys too, but getting TONS of stuff done 'round here. still have a few more books to make it through on my nightstand so i won't tarry here, but wanted to show off georgia's updated room.

this wall still looks the same except the Shepherd/sheep painting now hangs on the wall you see when you walk in instead of over the changing table. so no big changes here....

but on the opposite wall i changed everything. i sold her changing table. painted a giant chalkboard. hung an art line and chalk buckets. and made some floor pillows to create a reading corner for her...

turned out cute huh? the best part was that i managed to get it all done under $25. no joke. the chalkboard paint was the biggest expense at $8.00 for a pint. all the other items {chalk/ribbon/pales} came from the dollar store. and the art line is 2 hooks and some string w/ mini clothespins from hobby lobby. the name pillows were a gift so that isn't included but still, the other part was super cheap. the other best part was that it only took a day to complete. harold was out of town and i sent georgia to auburn and was done by the time she got back the next day.
and the bestest part is that we have one very happy little girl to be allowed to color on the walls now...

now if i could only get her to stay insides the lines. be back soon. love from us all...

many pictures. few words.

still enjoying my break from blogging but wanted to post some pictures from the last week...

sarah avery came over to get ready for mother's day out and here are the girls after their morning bath. i got them both lotioned up - dressed - hair done - with relatively little effort. they never have play dates at 7 a.m. so they were both just happy to have a friend around. the only thing is that two definitely make twice the mess...

this was before we left. georgia was busy slinging everything across the room and sarah avery was busy peeling the wrappers off all our crayons. so typical of their personalities :)

and these are just pictures off the camera that i thought were cute. we've been having the kind of days i want to remember forever....

i love this age. love love this age. and i love this girl. this curly-headed, onesie-on-the-outside wearing, rainboot-stomping, over-accessorizing, silly girl. love love love this girl of mine.

{and i love my husband too...but when he uses my cashmere scarf for the snowman, it's not my favorite. }

anyway, be back soon. or later. but will be back ;)
