Where, O Where

does the time go???

This past week was a big week for us. I would say it was a big week for Georgia, but she is completely adaptable, it is me that has a hard time :) So here's an update of what's going on at the Goss household:

On Monday, Harold went back to work after being home since Georgia was born. The time we three got to spend together will forever be special. I could try to explain the blessing that man is to me but there are no words in my vocabulary that I feel worthy to describe my love for him. And now we wait with anticipation each afternoon for his presence to fill this house and his kisses to calm our hearts.

Tuesday & Thursday, Georgia started 'big girl school' for the first time. I keep calling her two days spent with Dede school because Dede is so amazing to put her down for tummy time, read & sing to her, encourage her to hold the rattle, and all other kinds of constructive things. Anyway, I asked Georgia about her first day Tuesday night during bath time and she had lots of good to say. She was smiling the whole time she was 'talking' so I know it's all good. Plus, Dede would text me lots throughout the day to let me know what's going on with my girl. I cannot tell you how much that helped...Thank you Dede, you know I got lots of love for you :)

And today was her first trip to the church nursery. It is incredibly hard to leave your child with strangers, especially when they have to feed her, but it was so nice to be able to worship with Harold and focus on others without worrying about her beside me. The caretakers did a great job of course and she was just fine. I admit though, I did check the beeper they gave me about 100 times to make sure it was still on :)

And a few random facts...Georgia is sleeping 8 hours each night now. 10pm - 6am. She will wake sometimes for her paci around 4-5ish but goes right back down. Big girl. Mighty big girl. She is 2 months 2 weeks old but is outgrowing her 3-6month onesies. Tall girl. Mighty tall girl. Her eyes are still bluish, and her hair is turning a lighter brown. Pretty girl. Mighty pretty girl.

And she loves me in a special way. I can feel it. So me...Lucky girl. Mighty lucky girl.

dear dad...

i know you've only been gone about 30 minutes, but i miss you a little bit already. mommy said that you will have a good first day back to work, but she said they don't have naps there so i'm not so sure how fun that will be. the last 10 weeks have been so good when you were home...i'm little but i remember so much already ;)... like....i remember the first time i saw you and how funny that mask was...and i remember you telling me how pretty i was when you got to hold me good for the first time...and i remember how good you used to feed me...mom makes me burp too much but you let me keep drinkin' and that is a good thing...and our favorite...nap time. are you sure they don't have naps at work?... and you sung me the best burp songs and always let me sit up like a big girl...
and you visited with me so good...talkin' bout everything...
and you were so careful to watch me in the tub when mommy was bathing me 'cuz you know she's paranoid...and mommy told me that jesus has the whole world in his hands...i'm glad for that and i'm glad that i am in your hands. thank you for loving me and more importantly...
thank you for loving mommy so much. she told me that i had a special daddy and i agree. i love you and i'm so glad that i am yours and you are mine.

have a good day. love, peanut

and this little piggy...

went we, we, we ,we all the way to work :)

i started back working three days this week. i will work on tuesday, wednesday & thursday. dede is keeping georgia two of the days and she'll be coming with me the other day. i'm so fortunate that my boss stacy is so flexible and actually excited about there being a 'shop kid' around. her two girls grew up running around the office and now georgia will get to enjoy hollywood baby as much as i do. so in honor of that little piggy going to work i let her wear her piggy onesie...
she played on the floor in my office until she fell asleep.
i had to shoot some pictures of the clothing for our website, so she supervised the photo shoot
and here is her bedroom (my office) what a blessing to have her right there next to me

she did great too...i hate to brag but gosh she is such a great baby. i was a bit anxious taking her today for the first time. i didn't know how i would handle it. but she made it so easy by being her sweet self. again i say, what a blessing...
on another note...her 2 month check up was yesterday and all is good. the dr. said she is a healthy little girl. she is 11.8 lbs 23 inches and the shots weren't so bad. she had no fever, just a little sleepy yesterday but that was it.
again i say, what a blessing...

2 Months Old

wow time is flying by. georgia is growing and growing each day. she has found her voice. that is good and bad :) seriously though, she is starting to coo and 'talk' more each day. she can hold her head up so well and has started really focusing on what she is looking at. she still hates getting her diaper changed but LOVES bath time and a good song made up by her daddy. and she is almost sleeping through the night. last night was almost 7 hours. i'll take it. tomorrow is her 2 month check-up and first round of shots. ugh. not looking forward to that part. last monday she was 11 lbs 4 ozs so i'm anxious to see her length and weight this week. here's some pictures to enjoy. such a big girl :) these are my favorites pj's
her new tub... she had to upgrade from the newborn tub :(

and a conversation with the big blue elephant. we only do elephants in our house if they are orange and blue :)

On the mend...

I think Georgia is FINALLY getting better. Last night she slept in her bed for the first time in 12 nights. I haven't had to torture her with the bulb syringe in a couple of days either which has been nice. They work great, but gosh I hate using that thing. Anyways, thank you all for your prayers. Her energy seems to be back as well...Yesterday we gots lots more smiles and wiggles...

Punk'd

In two weeks, my dear friend Dede will start keeping Georgia twice a week while I work. I cannot tell you how fortunate we are to have her care for our baby girl. She has a 6 month old, Avery, and today we went over for a few hours to let Georgia nap there...play there...etc. We thought it might be good for her to get used to the place and plus I always look for any excuse to spend some time with Dede. So here's how the first introduction went...

"Hey little baby...I'm digging that paci..."
"I only get mine at nap time so.....I'm thinkin' I might want yours..."
"Yeah...I'm thinkin' I want a paci now too.....So I'll just take yours okay."
"Hey, Hey...you ain't gotta pitch a fit about it. It's JUST a paci"
And there you have it. Georgia got punk'd by Avery.
Seriously though, Avery is made of the stuff angels are and I am so thankful that Georgia will have her to learn from. Thank you Dede for loving me AND my baby girl!

the bright side...

well, georgia is STILL congested. ugh. she is eating well and sleeping decent but gosh i wish she would clear up. i know she does too. i hate having a cold and hers has lasted 10 days now. healing has be on its way. has to be.

on the other hand, staying inside and keeping her comfortable has afforded me lots of free time. in other words: i've been makin' stuff. when we were in auburn last weekend i bought her a cute hair clip. it looked so easy to make so after a purchase of baby snap clips and some felt from hobby lobby, baby girl is on her way to having lots of hair accessories :)
are they not the cutest thing? and SO easy to make. i love little girl stuff.

i have lots of plain white onesies laying around so i decided to add a little something to a couple as well. all this time on my hands had to be made useful for something :)fun stuff, huh? now i just need that little piggy to get better :)

My friend, Jen, met me

My friend, Jen, met me this morning to give us this swing for Georgia. Oh my goodness...How have I been without a swing these last 7 weeks???? She LOVES it! Not to mention it does the trick in getting all that congestion to drain. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, Jen!
This is a picture of her toes when she eats. As soon as she gets that bottle, her toes immediately curl like so and stay that way until she finishes. Must be some GOOD milk. And those eyes...still blue and even looking a little lighter. I wonder. She has the funniest looks sometimes. This was last night before bed. Sweet girl.
