i've been missing you guys lately but haven't had a chance to come up for air the past few days. got several things on my plate {literally & figuratively} right now so although i don't have anything new to post, i knew i couldn't pop in to say hello without leaving a picture....

this was a year ago today. where does time go? *sigh*

*and just cuz you care...i think i may be the only person in creation that actually gained weight after a widsom teeth extraction. impressive huh. okay bye bye.

curly locks, curly locks....

i bet you can guess how happy i am to have this little curly headed girl back home this past week....

she seems oblivious to the fact that i am in any kind of pain which has been great because i have no choice but to be oblivious either. these kind of smiles have a way of making me oblivious to anything around me....

we were reading in her mother goose book this week together and there was a poem titled 'curly locks' and it went something like this...

curly locks, curly locks

wilt thou be mine?

then it said something else about not doing the dishes and not having to feed the swine {can i add real quick that it's sad when you think about H1N1 when reading mother goose. anyway} but i focused on the first two lines and asked my curly locks if she would be mine.

said she maybe later. she's kinda digging her daddy right now.

they're big friends ya know.

and when she doesn't get the right answer from her 'friend' daddy...then she turns to be mine.

shame. shame. shame on me. it's just too hard to hold a grudge :)

hope you are enjoying the weather break. we've been outside 'ploring' {exploring} lots this week and it sure has been nice. maybe it will continue. nevertheless, be back soon...

there is reason...

for my absence that is. i got all 4 wisdom teeth pulled last week. there's lots to talk about but surely you wouldn't be interested in those details.

plus georgia was at my parents house for 4 days so there aren't any g diddy shenanigans to report either.

well. yet that is. she's home now. which means i'll be back soon. in all my swollen mouth glory.

that's average temperature it's been around here the last week. yep. 19. it also happens to be the number of months g marie is today. yep. 19. so before i forget here's what 19 looks like...

* 28 lbs 34 inches. tall and thick.
* super great talker. super great memory.
* loves school. church. and 'pu-licks' where she gets a 'tookie'.
* loves her daddy. loves loves her daddy.
* requires discipline and correction. loves to test limits. responds to correction {most times}
* getting better and better at memorization. we've been working on the Lord's Prayer and she can say : ' our fotter...in heb-in...holy name' by herself which i am super proud of.
* finally loves to read books

this age is really fun. really really fun. i've said that for the past few months and it just keeps getting better and better. being able to communicate with her and her with me has made a big difference in that. i love love hearing her talk. we spend most of our days talking to each other, she and i.

and what does 19 degrees look like????

it is forecasted to be in the 40's this week. we're going to the park if it breaks 40 so hopefully you won't see me here tomorrow. hopefully we'll be out getting some fresh air somewhere...

our little mac truck

georgia got this little tent/tunnel thing from my parents for christmas. not much else to say except we have gotten lots of laughs from this here present and our sweet {not so graceful} baby girl...

how funny is that? as you can hear, we thought it was pretty funny. this went on and on until i finally had to get the camera to get on video. i thought you guys would enjoy seeing it.

oh and one more thing...no child or adult was hurt in the filming of this video. it looks like she turns over in the tent but if you'll pay attention you'll see that her head is always sticking out of the top. if this caused any harm/distress for my child then obviously there would be no humor in that. just being clear.

newness

first of all...wow, it's cold out. what a way to bring in the new year. it feels like january and i am loving it. i am typically not a cold weather girl, but it has been nice feeling the cold air on face. nothing like 23 degrees to make you feel alive right? so i welcome the new year with excitement...freezing temps and all. i'm extra excited about this new year of ours. i don't really make new year 'resolutions' but it is always a good time to think about all the things you can/will/want to accomplish this year. there are things i would like to do better and others things i need not do at all this year. i need resolutions to do and to not-do. funny how that works. i was just reading a book last night called 'The Jesus Habits' and it was talking about some of the habits he had as a man. i hope this year i can replace some of my bad habits with Jesus habits. there are 31 one of them {Jesus habits that is...not my bad habits...my bad habits are like 31,000...anyway} even if i just managed to replace one of them then i could count the year a success. so i'll try for that. we'll see how it went january 2011.

and while i assume you too are looking forward to all the 'new' things this new year brings i hope you look too at the new mercies that being a child of God brings. we need not a january 1st to have hope. or newness. or a clean slate. those new mercies come each morning. so whatever this year brings you, i am praying today that his 'new mercies' will find a place in your heart.
