Well...

we just got back from the doctor and georgia is quite content where she is... no change has been made in over 2 weeks so we're just sitting tight. We did ask at what point induction would happen if she didn't budge and I must admit that I was a little disappointed with the answer. Our original due date was June 18th. It was changed to the 14th after our first ultrasound based on her measurements, BUT for induction purposes they will use the original due date (based on my last period) as a benchmark. Translation: You'll have to go a week past the 18th before we'll induce you. Yikes!!!! That's 3 1/2 weeks away! Maybe she'll come on her own before then but if not we're looking at the week of June 23 - 27 for induction.

As anxious as I am to get her here, I realize that God is enjoying the one on one time He is getting to spend with her and that helps to keep my patience in check. He is gracious enough to allow us to be the ones He entrusts her to, SO I can certainly be kind enough not to wish away any extra days He gets to spend alone with her. This is His child...His business. I am just an amazed spectator from the outside who He's chosen to assist Him in this miracle. What a blessing!

Lots of 'News'

First of all we got a new poll so take the time to answer. Here are the results from the previous poll:
4 of think she'll come between now & Saturday
17 say between June 1 - 7
16 think between June 8 - 14
10 guess she'll arrive after June 14

So the contest has begun. Harold thinks she is coming by Saturday. I think the 1st -7th so we'll see what happens. 20 days left. My goodness. So here's 37 weeks...
Also, I've developed a new hobby. Sewing burp cloths. Any scrap of fabric I find laying around I am quickly sewing to some terry cloth therefore making lots and lots cute burp cloths for her to throw up all over. Here's the latest batch...

And speaking of new...My nephew Max is headed to a new chapter in his little life. Kindergarten. He 'graduated' from pre-school on Thursday and now will get to be at the big kids school with sister Maggie. I did catch him for a quick picture but of course he had already shed the cap & gown. Yes, they had on real cap & gowns.

Excuse the blurry picture above...in fact that brings us to the last 'new' of the post. Our new camera. Our digital camera has been quite the frustration lately and I had started to panic about all the delivery, hospital pictures turning out blurry. So in lieu of getting some newborn pictures taken professionally, we bought a great camera yesterday. As you can imagine I am quickly learning everything I can so that I can be prepared to use it once she gets here. It's an SLR camera which operates a bit different than a digital so the learning curve is steep but goodness it will be worth it. Here's a picture from yesterday just playing around. The clarity and colors are amazing. Georgia will indeed be one photographed child.
So here's to all the 'news' in our world. Hopefully before long we'll be posting about our new addition. Come on baby girl!!!!!!!

4 weeks left...maybe

We are 26 days away from our due date and I just don't see how in the world I could get any bigger. She moves like a linebacker and with every jab and punch I think she just might be the one to break herself outta there. Just today I have had to take my rings off and I am starting to really feel every single extra pound I am carrying. No compliants though, just making it known that any time she is ready, I am too. Seriously ready :)

Our doctor's appointment was Wednesday

Our doctor's appointment was Wednesday morning...Tuesday night I was having contractions every 5-7 minutes for over a hour. I thought it just might be the real thing but I feel asleep knowing we'd see the doctor in a few hours. She checked everything and said that her head is already low and I've already started to 'thin out'. They weren't real labor contractions and she assured me that they will continue until she arrives and I will no doubt know when it's the real thing. Exciting, huh? Even though this process of thinning out/dilation can last for weeks it is neat to know that it has begun. Sooner than later our little girl will be here and we get to meet face to face at last. Funny how I already know so much about her and then again she's a complete mystery to me. God just works that way though. Of all the wonderful things I know about Him, there is still so much that remains a mystery and will be until we too meet face to face one day. He already knows everything about this sweet baby girl and I am so glad that He chose me to share her with...So we will wait in anticipation of all the things to come during this season in our lives and one thing that I know for sure is:

"No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived
what God has prepared for those who love him"
1 Corinthians 2:9

Good things await us and I can't wait to share them with you all.

Updates...

Sorry I've been a litte lazy lately in blogging but as we approach the due date it seems that my tasks are mounting and energy fading. Things are good though. Really good. One month from tomorrow is our expected due date. Take that with a grain of salt I've heard, but that's the target date. I can hardly believe it is that close. I'm ready and then completely not ready if that makes any sense. We have an appointment tomorrow and then will be going every week till she arrives. She has become quite the active one in utero so I am bracing myself for an active newborn (translation: sleepless nights) but we'll see. Nevertheless, I will be glad when she is here and not occupying every ounce of my abdomen. I am anxiously awaiting being able to sleep on my stomach again, EVEN if it is for 2 hours at a time :)

I'll update later this week with the scoop from our doctor's visit and a new picture...if we can find the wide lense (hee hee hee)

a chapter closed...

Harold is on his way home from his last weekend at Maxwell Air Force Base. We made the decision for him to leave the Reserves shortly after I found out I was pregnant. The weeks away for training, the inevitable reality of deployment & weekends at Maxwell every month started to mean something completely different for all three of us. He is the head of this house and takes that job very seriously making him not just an incredible husband and father but an incredible soldier, knowing when to walk away when you can't serve with your whole heart. I am constantly amazed at the resolve he has when it comes to the commitments in his life. He gives and serves in a way that is so reflective of the love of Christ and even when it hurts, he does the right thing. And for that...I am proud.

So sweetie, thank you for loving and protecting us in uniform but more importantly in the walls of our home. You are my hero.

Welcome to the world...

Our nephew, Winfield (Winn) Alan Heath, was born yesterday at 11:50 am. “Winn” weighed in at 7 lbs, 10 oz. and was all of 20” long. Winn’s 3 siblings, Maggie (6), Max (5) and Walker (3) welcomed him with open arms and speaking of arms, would not put him down for the entire afternoon. My sister-in-law Courtney & baby are doing great. This is a wonderful time in our family...so much life and love to be thankful for!
