ice cream love

2

1

we caught the ice cream truck for the first time this season yesterday.  there's not much better than hearing that jingle coming down your street.  georgia already recognizes it and she freezes and smiles knowing what's about to come.  my only complaint is that you have to drop 5 bucks for 2 popsicles.  i might have to work out a payment plan with him if this becomes a habit ;)

'round here...

can you believe how beautiful this weather has been?  the sun and coolness has served up seriously perfect weather and we've enjoyed every second of it....

so georgia is back to normal except in our 3 weeks home together she's developed quite the attachment to me and i kinda feel like we're back to the separation anxiety stage when she was an infant.  hopefully it will pass soon.  along with the diva attitude she's developed over the past 3 weeks as well.  catering to her every want/need when she was recovering might not have been the best thing i realize now.  got some work to do to get her back to reality.  nevertheless, i'm glad she's been able to get back to her playin' self.

harold has a conference in orange beach this week and we're tagging along but until we return here's just some random things going on 'round here...

22 002
can you believe those hydrangeas???  they are my favorite plant/flower by far and this beauty of a bush is just waiting for me to get it in the ground.  i love that i'll have fresh blooms all spring to enjoy inside.

22 013
and i know this is random but georgia found it while we were grocery shopping and she was picking out the potatoes.  i'm not going to cook it because i'm afraid that it might be some weird mutation of a potato but how could i not buy it?

22 016
princess play date.  i love that they want to dress up as soon as they wake up.  i'm not telling her anytime soon that she's not a real princess and i dare anyone else too...

and lastly...421 020

no explanation needed.  life is good.  and only because during this time two thousand years ago life was so very bad.  i hope during this passion week those of you who are believers are spending time in the Gospels reflecting on what happened to our Lord.  i hope you are preparing your hearts and minds to worship anew as Good Friday and Easter Sunday approach.

one more thing...peir 1 had some signs in their window that were all spring like in color and design and printed on it was "Easter Made Easy".  they were talking about easter decor i guess but as soon as i read it i screamed that there was NOTHING easy about Easter.  and if they think that putting some eggs in a basket and putting some chocolate bunnies out for a treat is what makes Easter then pity them.  and pity any of us who buy in to it.  the greatest and most important fact in history happened when our Lord arose...proving his claims as Son...defeating death forever....tearing the veil...restoring our fellowship...and the means was the cross.  and there is NOTHING we read that was easy about the cross.  and at the same time there was nothing more beautiful....nothing more loving.  celebrate that this weekend okay?

love from the ham...

a message from g marie...

and we're done.  we can already tell a huge difference in her sleeping.  it's all been so so worth it.  she's back to playing and eating and being bossy.  and as of tonight, i'm back in my own bed {which i must admit i'm a little sad about}.  we've spend every waking & sleeping hour together for the last 3 weeks.  today she had pictures at school so i took her for 45 minutes to get them done and i called harold because i didn't know what to do without her :)  she'll get back to school on thursday for a full day and i'm sure i'll find something to do with my time besides miss her little self...

thanks again for all the prayers/calls/texts.  be back soon...

day 4

4-3 007
we're on day 4 of recovery now.  i'm surprised at how well she's handling everything.  she's still on the pain meds but it seems that in the next day or so i'll be able to start stretching them out and hopefully switching to regular tylenol soon.  she's eating and drinking okay and sleeping well too.  i couldn't ask for her to be doing any better.  it's mercy.  undeserved healing mercy and i'm so so thankful for it.  from what they tell me we have another 6-7 days of recovery and we'll be good as new.  until then we'll tie balloons on every limb...play car ride in inside...eat lots of whatever sounds good and give lots and lots of hugs.

thanks again for all the prayers.  thank you.

thank you...

going on 24 hours now at home and recovery is going better than i expected.  she was such a big girl {i was not} yesterday and has been such a sweet patient at home.  cissy is here for 4 days then grandma comes for another 4 after that.  georgia and i both are happy to have the company :)

thanks for all the prayers both near and far.  god's people are something.  it's going to be so much fun in heaven when we're all together hanging out for ever and ever.  we love you all...
